GUARENTEED TO STOP "CHARLIE"S:

If we are talking about Charlie Horses when you are pregnant, or even if your NOT pregnant, I can give you a GUARENTEED way to stop them INSTANTLY!

If you have a "charlie" in the calf of your leg, or in your foot, place the bottom of your foot FLAT on a cold window, or wall... It sounds crazy, I know, but it WORKS! It takes the pain away INSTANTLY!

When I was pregnant, I got "charley's" ALL the time... My mother, who heard it from HER mother, and so-on, and so-forth, gave me this unforgettable advice, which I am now, passing onto YOU!

A Charlie Horse, also known as a "dead leg", is a bruise on your quadricepts muscle of the thigh, also a muscle cramp in the leg or foot is called a "Charley Horse".

The most common cause being over-working your muscles, also, a lack of potassium, or calcium in your blood.

Etymology of the "Charlie Horse"

It is said that maybe the term "Charlie Horse" came from a baseball player by the name of "Charlie "Old Hoss" Radbourn" who is sad to have suffered from cramps. Also, another story, is about a horse named Charley that used to work at Comiskey Park, the Chicago White Sox's ballpark.

GOOD IDEA! Yes, the first thing my doctor told me was to get plenty of potassium, and CALCIUM, also. Especially in us women- after a certain age, we should take a daily vitamin such as centrum. I am 31, and I feel I should start taking them now...

Good hub and I will certainly try it as I often wake up with one. You mentioned the lack of potassium which makes me really wonder, because I was once so low on that, that I had a mild heart attack. Think I'll go eat a banana.

And here I thought it was because she answered my hub request. LOL

Thanks for the info MamaDragonfly. My husband actually said that you can pull your bottom lip and it will stop. I haven't tried that yet.

I'm not sure I could get to a cold window or wall in the middle of a charley horse.
